I had, unfortunately, tried to use an online service to register the trademark myself \u2013 and it cost me. <\/p>\n I contacted Neil, and he said he would look into it. Neil was able to \u2018win\u2019 our trademark dispute by using my blockchain data to prove that we had used the trademark OpenVino\u00ae in intrastate and international commerce before Intel had applied for their trademark. Basicially, he proved our \u201cfirst-use\u201d of OpenVino\u00ae. Intel decided to offer to share the international trademark for OpenVino\u00ae instead of fighting us. We believe this was the first time anyone in the world had used blockchain data to defend a trademark.<\/p>\n Next, we had Neil establish and defend the trademark for our wine \u201cMike Tango Bravo\u201d in the United States, fighting back competing claims from the owners of Mike\u2019s Hard Lemonade. In the end, Mike\u2019s Hard Lemonade gave up like Intel.<\/p>\n Taking the \u201cMike Tango Bravo\u201d registration to the nth degree, Neil\u2019s team helped me change my personal legal name (in Utqiagvik, Alaska, no less!) from \u201cMichael Thomas Barrow\u201d to \u201cMike Tango Bravo,\u201d as part of my expression of self-sovereign identity. Neither Neil nor I have ever set foot in Alaska.
